Naked raku is a method of obtaining a special smooth shiny surface after glaze has been deliberately peeled off the pot. It’s a very exciting process that involves many different layers with an unpredictable result. The black marks emerge from cracks in the surface the glaze which are infused with carbon from burning wood and paper.
Raku pots are decorative, and not suitable for food or liquid use.
