Raku form
The crackles in the glazed surface caused by rapid cooling of the pot are blackened by smoke from burning sawdust. The black top is unglazed and blackened by smoke from burning paper and sawdust.
This pot has been fired at a low temperature to maximise on the carbonised crackles and therefore is porous and not suitable for food or liquid use.
This form was made on the potter’s wheel and the top reformed while still wet.
